The difference between stretch film and cling film
Although the appearance and material of stretch film and cling film
are similar, there are obvious differences in their use, production technology, specifications and prices.
1. Different uses
Stretch film is often used in packaging and transportation logistics, such as wrapping packaging of large pallets, wrapping packaging of containers and boxes; It is also used for short-distance transportation and sales packaging, such as food and beverage packaging, winding packaging of steel and profiles, and winding packaging of plastic decorative plates, floors, carpets, etc.
Cling film is generally used in daily life. It is widely used in microwave oven food heating, refrigerator food preservation, fresh and cooked food packaging and other occasions. It is also widely used in family life, supermarkets, hotels, restaurants and industrial food packaging.
2. Different specifications
Stretch film is generally thicker than the fresh-keeping film, and the size is larger than the fresh-keeping film. The general width of machine stretch film is 50cm, and the thickness is 10-20um. Household cling film is generally 30cm wide and 10um thick.
3. Different stretching ratio
The stretch ratio of the stretch film is larger than that of the cling film. The stretch film is directly blown by LDPE through the blow molding machine, and the stretch ratio can reach 300% - 400%. At the same time, the cling film is sticky to articles, while the winding film is self-adhesive, which is related to the amount of polyisobutylene used.
4. Different definitions
Stretch film is the earliest PVC winding film produced in China with PVC as the base material and DOA as the plasticizer and self-adhesive.
Cling film is a kind of plastic packaging product, usually made by polymerization with ethylene as the masterbatch.
